RESTVEST (EN)

For me, the RESTVEST is a colorful and unique cardigan, no two of which are the same. It is the ideal project to use leftover yarn, making it not only durable, but also exceptionally beautiful. Each stitch brings memories to life. This makes the RESTVEST a cardigan full of color, character and personal stories! Perfect for wearing and cherishing.

The name of this cardigan has its origin in the Dutch language: 'rest' means leftover, 'vest' means cardigan. So RESTVEST is a cardigan made from scraps and leftovers.

The RESTVEST has a classic and comfortable fit. The cardigan is knitted back and forth on a circular needle from top to bottom. To shape the yoke, short rows and raglan increases are used. The sleeves are worked in the round and the front bands will be added later.

Bust circumference
The bust circumference of the finished cardigan measures approx. 84 (94, 105, 115) 125 (135, 145, 155) 166 cm (33 (37, 41¼, 45¼) 49¼ (53, 57, 61) 65¼ inches). The pattern is designed to be approx. 8 cm (3 - 3¼ inches) larger in circumference than your bust circumference (positive ease).

The length of the finished cardigan is 52 (53, 53, 54) 55 (56, 58, 60) 60 cm (20½ (20¾, 20¾, 21¼) 21¾ (22, 22¾, 23½) 23½ inches).

Gauge
30 stitches x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) on 2.5 mm (US1½) needles, main fabric, after washing and then drying flat

Circular needle 2.5 mm (US1½) for main fabric (80 and/or 100 cm (32 and/or 40 inches))
Circular needle 2.25 mm (US1) for ribbing
